TERREQT

Capture territory. Build rectangles. Outsmart the computer.

Terreqt is a strategic territory game where every square on an 8 × 8 board is contested through a challenge. Capture squares, build rectangular territory and make every move count.

The Objective

Your goal is not simply to capture the most squares. You are trying to create the biggest rectangle of territory on the board.

64 Squares

The game board is an 8 × 8 grid, giving you and the computer 64 contested squares to fight over.

Every Square Matters

Each square has a point value. Capturing valuable squares can dramatically change the balance of the game.

Build Territory

Captured squares combine to form rectangles. The size and number of your rectangles determine the winner.

An 8 × 8 Battlefield

Every square presents an opportunity. Every square can also become a target for your opponent.

Every Square Is a Challenge

Capturing territory requires you to solve different types of challenges.

Pattern Matching

Study patterns, identify the correct relationship and make your move before time runs out.

Chance Challenges

Sometimes your fate is determined by chance. Be ready to take the risk when the opportunity appears.

Square Counting

Test your visual reasoning by counting squares and solving increasingly challenging configurations.

Know the Value of Your Territory

Not all squares are worth the same number of points. High-value territory can become a powerful asset—or a tempting target.

B Squares

B1 is worth 8 points.
B8 is worth 64 points.

V Squares

V1 is worth 1 point.
V8 is worth 8 points.

Defend Your Territory

The computer isn't just waiting for you to capture territory. It can attack squares that you already own.

Repel the Attack

You can choose to spend points to repel the computer's attack and protect your square.

Face the Challenge

Instead of spending points, you can face a challenge and attempt to keep your territory.

Make the Calculation

Your points are a strategic resource. Deciding when to spend them—and when to take the challenge—is part of the game.

How to Play

1

Contest a Square

Choose your opportunity and face the challenge associated with the contested square.

2

Capture Territory

Successfully solve the challenge and claim the square for your territory.

3

Defend Your Squares

When the computer attacks, decide whether to spend points or face another challenge.

4

Build Rectangles

Shape your captured territory into rectangles and pursue the largest territory possible.

What Determines the Winner?

Terreqt rewards strategic territory building, not simply the number of squares you capture.

First: The player with the biggest rectangle wins.

Second: If the biggest rectangle is tied, the player with the most rectangles wins.

Third: If both the biggest rectangle and the number of rectangles are tied, the player with the most points wins.
